Fullerton, the Nance County seat, is at the heart of the best hunting and agricultural land in Nebraska at the convergence of Highways 14 and 22.  With an active Economic Development Committee and Chamber, we strive toward progress and development. Fullerton offers a technologically advanced and an academic top ten ranked public school, updated city library, two assisted living facilities, a new independent living facility, nursing home and two medical clinics that are the pride of the community.  A beautiful 9-hole grass green golf course and clubhouse is located with scenic views of the Cedar River Valley. A new outdoor recreation facility located on the Cedar River is under construction. It will involve the renovation of the old hydroelectric plant and Five Acre Island in the river. When finished it will provide camping spots, shelter, RV hook-ups, a walking trail and boat ramp.


COVID-19:

Nance County and the City of Fullerton are currently under a Directed Health Measure issued by the East Central Health District. In addition to the rules/recommendations listed in the Directed Health Measure, the City has also issued the following:

1. The Public Library is closed, but is offering curbside service. Please call the Library for further information.

2. The Tennis Court/Skate Park and the Softball and Baseball Fields are now open to the public.

3. City Hall will be closed to the general public. The office will still be staffed from 8 AM till 5 PM Monday through Friday, but business will be conducted via phone, email or the dropbox only. If you have any questions or concerns, please call 308-536-2428.

4. The City Maintenance Building is closed to the general public. If you need to contact our maintenance personnel, please call 308-536-2428.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

THE CITY OF FULLERTON is accepting applications for a full-time Maintenance Supervisor. This position is responsible for supervising, performing, directing and coordinating construction, maintenance and repair of the City streets, parks, water and sewer systems. This position will be responsible for managing all employees within the Street, Water, Sewer and Parks Department. The Maintenance Department currently has three full-time employees and occasional part-time seasonal employees. Position requires after hours, on-call availability and must be able to report to a work site within a 20 minute response time under normal weather conditions. Work is primarily performed outdoors, requires a considerable amount of physical activity and the ability to operate heavy equipment/vehicles, various hand and power tools and other equipment used in the upkeep, repair, maintenance and construction of streets, water and wastewater systems.

Requirements: A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required. Experience in municipal/public water and wastewater systems and street/road maintenance is desired.

Experience in sewer lagoon systems, water distribution and supply, sample collection, and laboratory analysis is desired. Must have experience in the operation of heavy equipment (such as a maintainer, loader, backhoe, forklift, etc...) and have a valid Nebraska driver's license.

Must possess and maintain a Water Operators Grade IV license from the State of Nebraska or have the ability to obtain said license within a time frame designated by the Mayor.

The pay range for the position is $39,000 to $44,000 annually with full family health and retirement benefits.
